Mallorca. Please Join Us - Owners
& Renters!
Meetings will
be held on the 2nd
Thursday of each month at the Southpointe Clubhouse, 8286 Via Mallorca. The homeowners' forum begins
at 6:30 p.m.; the regular Board session begins at 7 p.m.
Furnace Air Filters
IMPORTANT - Remember to get your
furnace serviced annually by a licensed contractor.
Don’t forget
to replace the air filter in your furnace at least twice a year. If you
aren't able to change the furnace filter yourself, make friends with a
neighbor who can or call a handyman! The filters only cost $3-$5 at Home
Depot or HomeBase and you will be amazed at how dirty your old furnace filter
has become.
Also, if the
furnace filter is dirty, this may restrict the normal airflow to the burner,
not allowing the natural gas to burn properly and the furnace may emit
poisonous carbon monoxide fumes. Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning
include dizziness, headaches, queasy stomach and drowsiness. Call SDG&E
at 800-611-7343 immediately if you suspect that your furnace is emitting
carbon monoxide. You may want to buy a carbon
monoxide alarm for your home. It only cost $15 from Home Depot and it
may save your life.
Condolences
Very sadly, Trudy Vineberg Orent
passed away last month. She is survived by Mr. Arthur Orent, who plans to
continue to reside at CLJG. Please join the Board in sending your condolences
to Mr. Orent.
5 mph, Please!
Some residents
have mentioned they were almost run over leaving their garages or the post
box area by the front entrance.
Please, please
keep your speed down while entering or leaving our community. Be considerate
of others. Please,
we wouldn't want a tragic accident to happen with someone being hurt from
being knocked down or ran over by a car.
CLJG Gardeners
You may have noticed some men
wearing blue and gold t-shirts with M.C. Landscape Maintenance, Inc. These
are our new gardeners!
Please review the
gardeners action item list on the CLJG website. You can view their work
schedule on our CLJG website:
http://www.capelajollagardens.com/landscape_gardeners_schedule.html
Contact Leslie if there are any other areas which need attention.
Please refrain
from asking the gardeners to do personal work on your patio as this is
forbidden in their work contract with M.C. Landscape Maintenance, Inc.
Orange Cones
If you notice orange cones in
the driveway, these indicate that work on the driveway has recently been
done. Either there is wet paint or wet tarmac that could get on your car.
Please try to avoid these areas, as CLJG won't be responsible to any damages
to your car. Also, if you are the culprit to move cones and drive through the
area, you will be responsible for any additional repair to that area.
Thought for the Day!
The only way to solve the traffic problems of the country is to pass
a law that only paid-for cars are allowed to use the highways. Will
Rogers (1879-1935) American actor and humorist.
Trees &
Gift Boxes
As we can expect a lot of
"holiday" trash, please crush your gift boxes, wrap your trash bags
securely (the rats and ants love the sweets), and don't leave any trash on
the ground, even if the dumpster is full.
Trees should
be taken to a recycling center. As soon as we find out the location we will
post it on the end of the mailboxes.
