 Handyman's Corner

Have you had your electricity go out in your garage? Did you flip the circuit breaker back on and still had no power in the garage? Here is what the problem may be.

Amazingly, the garage and bathrooms are on the same Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). A GFCI is a small circuit breaker that is located in the middle of one of the power outlet sockets in the main or guest bathrooms and can shut down a faulty circuit within 1/40th sec (that's fast!).

For more information, check out the section on GFCI circuit breakers at http://www.purplehair.com/gfci.htm. To reset the breaker, press the button in the middle of the sockets. You should then have power again in your garage!

 Be a Board Member!

The Annual Board Meeting is coming up soon.  Four positions on the board will be elected.  If you are interested and would like your name to be added to the proxy as a candidate, along with those board members up for re-election, please contact Tom at Menas Realty at 270-7870, x14.

 Trash - again!

Again, we are finding trash bags littered on the ground next to the dumpsters on several occasions. If the dumpsters are filled to capacity, you need to take your trash back to your house or your garage until the waste service comes and there's room in the dumpster. Trash left outside the dumpster attracts ants and rats! The trash men don't pick up anything lying beside the receptacle (that's not part of the service). If the trash you left beside the dumpster is gone the next time you visit, it's probably because one of your neighbors got sick of the unsightliness and put it in the dumpster. Let's not rely on the "kindness of strangers" and dispose of all trash properly.

 Thought for the Day!

I'm changing my name to Chrysler
I'm going down to Washington, D.C.

I'll tell some power broker
                    What they did for Iacocca
Will be perfectly acceptable to me!

I'm changing my name to Chrysler,
I'm heading for that great receiving line.

When they hand a million grand out,
I'll be standing with my hand out,
Yes sir, I'll get mine!
               -- Tom Paxton

 Repairs

The CLJG maintenance and janitorial staff are employees of Menas Realty.  Please do not stop them and ask them to immediately take care of a problem that you may have. Instead, contact Michelle at Menas Realty (270-7870) and she will instruct the crew.
